MIAMI - The Latin Recording Academy® has announced today the 2019 Leading Ladies of Entertainment, which honors and recognizes professional and socially conscious women within the arts and entertainment fields who have made significant  contributions, inspiring the next generation of female leaders. This year’s recipients will be honored at a private celebration to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in Las Vegas, marking the event's third year as a kickoff to Latin GRAMMY® week.

The 2019 Leading Ladies of Entertainment honorees are:

  •     María Elisa Ayerbe, audio engineer and producer
  •     Lila Downs, Latin GRAMMY/GRAMMY® winning singer-songwriter and social activist
  •     Luana Pagani, music executive, President & Partner, Seitrack US
  •     Dayanara Torres, actress, model, author, and former Miss Universe
  •     Elsa Yep, CFO/Executive Vice President of Operations, Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula

"It brings me much joy and pride to celebrate these passionate, courageous, and bold women during our annual Leading Ladies of Entertainment event," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., Latin Recording Academy President/CEO. "Through this exclusive platform, which continues to expand internationally, we aim to promote role models as living example for the next generation of young women who dream of a career in the arts, entertainment, or any other field they might want to pursue."

The annual Leading Ladies of Entertainment event is not only an opportunity for The Latin Recording Academy to recognize and highlight the work of incredible women, but also serves as a platform to raise funds for the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation®.  A portion of the profits earned from corporate sponsorships will go toward a scholarship for a young woman interested in music studies.

To help support the event, belVita will come onboard for the first time as an official sponsor of the event.

In addition, Hennessy returns as the official spirits sponsor and joins forces with The Latin Recording Academy to honor outstanding women in entertainment who, much like Hennessy's brand campaign, Never Stop. Never Settle. They will warmly welcome guests during the luncheon with a signature cocktail featuring products from their brand portfolio.
