NEWS ITEM ON HURRICANE PAULETTE ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6 AM SUNDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2020.

...PAULETTE MOVING CLOSER TO BERMUDA...

...STRONG WINDS...STORM SURGE...AND HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON BERMUDA BY THIS EVENING...

AT 5 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF HURRICANE PAULETTE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 29.4°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 60.8° WEST OR ABOUT 310 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BERMUDA.

HURRICANE PAULETTE IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MPH. ON THE FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF PAULETTE WILL MOVE NEAR OR OVER BERMUDA MONDAY MORNING.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 75 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

TROPICAL STORM SALLY IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 13 MPH.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 50 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

AT 5 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION RENE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 26.2 °NORTH AND LONGITUDE 47.1° WEST OR ABOUT 1160 MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS.

RENE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MPH.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 30 MILES PER HOUR HIGHER GUSTS.

...DEPRESSION EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY STRENGTHEN OVER THE NEXT

SEVERAL DAYS...

 

 AT  5 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWENTYWAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 12.2°NORTHAND LONGITUDE 35.5° WEST OR ABOUT 1745 MILES EAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES.

THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 10 MPH.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  THE SYSTEM COULD BECOME A HURRICANE IN A FEW DAYS.
