NEWS ITEM ON POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE TEDDYISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6PM WEDNESDAY, 23RD SEPTEMBER, 2020.

...TEDDY MOVING JUST WEST OF NEWFOUNDLAND…

…STILL LIKELY TO PRODUCE DANGEROUS WAVES AND STRONG WINDS ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN NEWFOUNDLAND…

AT 5PM EDT, THE CENTER OF POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE TEDDY WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 48.6° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 59.6° WESTOR ABOUT 70 MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF PORT AUX BASQUES, NEWFOUNDLAND.

THE POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 31 MPH (50 KM/H), AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY.  ON THE FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF TEDDY WILL MOVE CLOSER TO NORTHWESTERN NEWFOUNDLAND TONIGHT AND INTO THE LABRADOR SEA ON THURSDAY BEFORE BECOMING ABSORBED BY A LARGER NON-TROPICAL LOW.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 50 MPH (85KM/H) WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS FORECAST BEFORE THE SYSTEM DISSIPATES ON THURSDAY.
