NEWS ITEM ON SUBTROPICAL DEPRESSION FOUR ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY, FORECAST OFFICE SECTION AT 6:00 PM EDT, MONDAY 22ND JUNE 2020.

...SUBTROPICAL DEPRESSION NUMBER FOUR FORMS WELL OFFSHORE OF THE U.S. EAST COAST …
 
AT 5:00 PM EDT, THE CENTER OF SUBTROPICAL DEPRESSION FOUR WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 38.2° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 65.7° WEST, OR ABOUT 310 MILES SOUTHEAST OF NANTUCKET MASSACHUSETTS.

THE SUBTROPICAL DEPRESSION IS MOVING FORWARD TO THE EAST-NORTHEAST NEAR 9 MPH AND THIS MOTION IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT.  A MOTION TOWARD THE NORTHEAST IS EXPECTED ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME SLIGHT STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT OR EARLY TUESDAY AND THE SUBTROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD BRIEFLY BECOME A SUBTROPICAL STORM. SLOW WEAKENING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING.
