NEWS ITEM ON SUBTROPICAL STORM ANDREA ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 8:30PM MONDAY 20TH MAY 2019.

…SUBTROPICAL STORM ANDREA FORMS OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC…

AT 6:30PM EDT, THE CENTER OF ANDREA WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 28.8°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 68.7° WEST OR ABOUT 335 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BERMUDA.

ANDREA IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH AT 14 MILES PER HOUR.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

SLIGHT STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT. WEAKENING SHOULD BEGIN LATE TUESDAY AND ANDREA IS EXPECTED TO DISSIPATE ON WEDNESDAY.

THIS SYSTEM POSES NO THREAT TO THE BAHAMAS.
