NEWS ITEM ON SUBTROPICAL STORM ANDREA ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6:00AM TUESDAY 21ST MAY 2019.

…SUBTROPICAL STORM ANDREA MAINTAINING A NORTHWARD MOTION OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC…

AT 6:00 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF ANDREA WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 30.0°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 69.0° WEST OR ABOUT 295 MILES WESTSOUTHWEST OF BERMUDA.

ANDREA IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH AT 6 MILES PER HOUR.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS FORECAST TODAY, FOLLOWED BY WEAKENING LATE TONIGHT. ANDREA IS EXPECTED TO DISSIPATE ON WEDNESDAY.

THIS SYSTEM POSES NO THREAT TO THE BAHAMAS.
