NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM BARRY ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6:00 PM SATURDAY 13TH JULY 2019.

... BARRY MOVING FURTHER INLAND OVER SOUTHERN LOUISIANA…

AT 5:00 PM EST, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM BARRY WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 30.1 NORTH, LONGITUDE 92.3 WEST OR 2O MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF LAFAYETTE LOUISIANA AND ABOUT 85 MILES SOUTH OF ALEXANDRIA LOUISIANA.
 
BARRY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 7 MPH, AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TONIGHT. A TURN TOWARD THE NORTH IS EXPECTED ON SUNDAY. ON THE FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF BARRY WILL MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN AND SOUTHWESTERN LOUISIANA THIS EVENING AND THROUGH CENTRAL LOUISIANA TONIGHT.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  AS IT MOVES INLAND, BARRY IS FORECAST TO WEAKEN TO A DEPRESSION ON SUNDAY.

THIS SYSTEM POSES NO THREAT TO THE BAHAMAS.
