NEWS ITEM ON SUBTROPICAL STORM LESLIE ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6AM SATURDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2018.

… LESLIE EXPECTED TO MEANDER OVER THE NORTH-CENTRAL ATLANTIC FOR A FEW MORE DAYS…

AT 5:00AM EDT, THE CENTER OF SUBTROPICAL STORM LESLIE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 35.2°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 50.3° WEST OR ABOUT 855 MILES ENE OF BERMUDA OR 1300 MILES W OF THE AZORES.

SUBTROPICAL STORM LESLIE IS MOVING TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST AT 7 MPH.  A GENERAL SOUTHWESTWARD MOTION WITH A DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS REMAIN NEAR 45 MILES PER HOUR (MPH) WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE, AND LESLIE COULD TRANSITION INTO A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

AT 5:00AM EDT, THE CENTER OF REMNANTS OF KIRK WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 15.3°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 67.1° WEST.

THE REMNANTS OF KIRK IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST AT 12 MPH.
