Tropical storm Gert gets a little stronger

News Item On Tropical Storm Gert Issued By The Bahamas Department Of Meteorology Forecast Office Section, At 12pm Monday 14th August 2017.

Swells Expected To Begin Affecting Portions Of The U.s. East Coast Later Today

At 11:00am Edt, The Center Of Tropical Storm Gert Was Located Near Latitude 30.3°north And Longitude 72.2° West Or About 460 Miles West-southwest Of Bermuda.

Tropical Storm Gert Is Moving Toward The North At 8 Mph. A Gradual Turn Toward The Northeast With An Increase In Forward Speed Is Forecast For The Next 48 Hours.

Maximum Sustained Winds Have Increased To Near 60 Miles Per Hour (Mph) With Higher Gusts. Additional Strengthening Is Forecast And Gert Is Expected To Become A Hurricane By Tomorrow Night.

The Next News Item Will Be Issued At 6pm.
