CAYMAN ISLANDS  - When Maurice Bloom retired to the Cayman Islands two and a half years ago from the United Kingdom, he was like many individuals who take their health for granted until a dramatic event reveals that all may not be well.

For Mr. Bloom, that moment came recently when he suffered a heart attack and went to Health City Cayman Islands for treatment.

Dr. Ravi Kishore, Chief Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Health City, recalled, "Maurice came to us with chest pain. He ignored it as pain related to his stomach and tried taking antacids, but as it was persisting, he came to see us."

Allison Bloom, stressed by her husband's condition, was immediately set at ease by the level of expertise and care at Health City, "We went in to see Dr. Ravi, and he said, 'Mr. Maurice, you are a naughty boy...you had this heart attack two days ago. Anyway, don't worry. Everything's going to be okay.'"

Fortunately, Health City Cayman Islands is staffed by some of the most accomplished cardiac specialists around.

Dr. Kishore convinced Mr. Bloom to undergo tests that determined his heart attack was due to a blockage in one of his coronary arteries and scheduled him for angioplasty to dissolve the blockage.

Mrs. Bloom was impressed with the health center's efficiency. "Within an hour, at the most, Dr. Ravi was doing an angiogram, and then angioplasty, and everything else that was needed to get Maurice back on track. What a blessing."

In addition to the exceptional medical treatment he received,Maurice Bloom is thankful for the efficient care dispensed by several hospital teams, "(In the hospital), I have a team in theater working on me. I have a team that looked after me through the night taking care ... everybody, everybody's looking after me and caring about me...You won't do any better."

The Blooms have had experience with many different hospitals in Europe but Maurice Bloom asserted Health City was different, "(With) Health City hospital (the) first thing is the care. They want to make sure that you're alive, you're well, and you're on the right track.

And you're not frightened. That's the heart of the hospital."
