Bahamas' Joanna Evans takes Silver in 400 freestyle in Veracruz

VERACRUZ, Mexico - The Central American and Caribbean Games’ (CAC) swim competition began November 15th in Veracruz, Mexico. The first final of the evening was the women’s 400 freestyle, won by Venezuela’s Andreina Pinto in a time of 4:11.65.  Her gold-winning time was followed by Joanna Evans of The Bahamas (Grand Bahama) earning a silver (4:16.82) and the bronze finisher Natalia Jaspeado of Mexico (4:17.43).

Bahamas' Matthew Lowe swam in the 200 Fly finishing 8th with a time of 2:06.47, Ariel Weech finished 7th in the 50 Back with a time of 30.73, Albury Higgs swam a personal best in the 100 Breast finishing in 4th place with a time of 1:14.06.

Joanna is swimming next in the 200 free, Arianna Vanderpool Wallace in the 50 fly (who took Gold), and Matthew Lowe  in the 1500 free.
