Nassau, Bahamas - With her farewell performance at Uptown Lounge this past Saturday night, there were mixed emotions amongst the crowd of about 350 fans in attendance. Many were excited to see what their favorite Bahamian artist/songwriter had 'up her sleeve', while others were solemn at the prospect of TaDa leaving the country indefinitely. Until the video footage is released later this week, one cannot really grasp fully the chic/cool/love vibes that TaDa, her band Sway, and her backup vocalists Wendy and Shane Lewis brought to the stage. Simply put, TaDa has definitely proven that she's THAT GIRL!

TaDa's Bon Voyage party presented by Dominoes Pizza and Builder's Mall was originally scheduled to take place at the plush Luna Nightclub, but because of last minute proposed agreement changes and unprofessional dealings by the club owner, TaDa's team, Mancini Marketing, advised her to host her grand event elsewhere. With about 30 hours until showtime, Uptown Lounge, More 94 FM, Island FM, TheBahamasWeekly.com and Star 106 FM all agreed to switch the advertising to reflect the venue and day change. The creative team of Kemis.net and Creative Candie Designs were ready to roll without hesitation, releasing a new flyer design to over 15,000 people within about 24 hours until showtime.

Originally set to open for TaDa on the Friday date were, Ronnie Butler & Sweet Emily, Rapp Quelle, ReBirth, Sosa, Padrino & NCity. Half the lineup was unable to make the date switch, but the show went on! Fans started arriving from as soon as the doors opened at 9:30, and patiently stayed until the crowds thickened to about 350 in attendance by 11pm. First up was TaDa's mom's favorite Bahamian rapper, Rapp Quelle, who performed 2 songs including his hit single "80's Back". Next up came our very own reggae queen, ReBirth, who wowed the crowed with a mix of dancehall and her original hot culture tune "Just a Woman". Dressed in a stunning ensemble and wielding a rod - ReBirth's performance certainly set the stage for headliner TaDa.

TaDa had previously stated at her press conference, that she was looking forward to performing with legendary Ronnie Butler. Unfortunately, Ronnie had to leave event early for his own gig, but she was honored to know that he had come out to show his consistent support.

At 11:45 pm., TaDa walked into Uptown, escorted by her personal bodyguard "Hollywood" Cartwrighter. The crowd was clamoring to hail, but TaDa reported to the stage immediately to get down to business. Dressed in a funny black jacket, skinny weathered jeans and high heeled gold and coppers chain-link boots all furnished by Bridgette at "Sexy Thang" (Robinson Rd.), TaDa was about to get her "Rawk Star" on!!

She started with a heartfelt introduction, asking the crowd how they were feeling, acknowledging her backing band, vocalists, sponsors, media partners and team. Then, the unexpected... TaDa's very first selection would be a medley of Bahamian songs including 'Boom Pine Apple Wine', 'My Mama Told Me', 'Uncle Lou' & 'Naughty Johnny'. Understandably, the crowd went WILD! TaDa even ushered one young man up to the stage to show off his 'dicey-doe' dance technique, and the tone was set for what can be describes as the BEST solo concert by a Bahamian artist, of all time.

TaDa went on to vibe into a popular love tune by Robin Thicke, "Lost Without You", then asked the crowd to guess her all time FAVORITE recording artist, before singing Lauryn Hill's rendition of "Killing Me Softly", which the crowd happily sang along with her word-for-word. Next up came another favorite song of TaDa's, "Beautiful" as performed by Christina Aguilera, then finally ending her cover songs set, "Adia" by Canadian artist/songwriter Sarah McLaughlin, which TaDa dedicated to the children of her cause "Bahamas Against Sexual Violence & Child Abuse" (which she plans to host a fundraiser event for later this year).

The Band Sway just had to swing it back to Roachie's 'Boom Pine Apple Wine' to end off the covers set before TaDa asked the crowd, "Are you ready for some of MY songs now??". A resounding laugh and affirmative nods brought in the sounds of Caribbean Gospel Music Award-nominated, "Footprints in the Sand". The crowd was again happy to join in and sang out the chorus passionately, as it is an anthem of hope cherished by Bahamians of all ages, races and creeds!

Next came "No One Else", another crowd favorite and the title of TaDa's latest music video directed by Charlie Smith (Earthbeat Productions) and produced by Burton Wallace of Movi Group of Companies.

TaDa's background vocalist Shayne Lewis joined her in their rendition of "Go" commonly known as "Undecided", originally featuring 'Cello Tha Black Pearl' who resides in Detroit. Shayne shined on the performance, not allowing TaDa to "bully" him in this local hit that again got the crowd riled up and is available on the "I'm That Girl" CD, iTunes

Although the crowd would have stayed all night if TaDa kept singing, she said that she would end with her ever-popular self-titled theme song (as seen on TEMPO & Much Music).

TaDa's Bon Voyage was a true triumph in every sense of the word. Media and photo coverage of the night was extensive but will only lend a glimpse into the powerful, real, down-to-earth vibes that TaDa demanded at her farewell concert performance. We hate to see her leave, but look forward to seeing her again on the WORLD stage, as she is a world-calibre artist/songwriter and pioneer for artists of all disciplines from the Bahamas.
