The Bahamas International Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local Bahamian community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. In addition to offering films that might not otherwise be released theatrically in the Bahamas, BIFF will provide a unique cultural experience and set of educational programs and forums for exploring the past, present and future of cinema.

Over the last 7 years BIFF has developed into a prestigious and well respected event throughout the Bahamas and around the world. Honorees have been Johnny Depp, Laurence Fishburne, Daryl Hannah, Nicolas Cage, and Roger Corman. BIFF has also had the privilege to honour Hollywood’s Rising Stars, Anna Faris, Naomie Harris, Sophie Okonedo and more.

When the Bahamas International Film Festival begins its 8th Annual festival this December, it will be doing so with the assistance of RBC Royal Bank. RBC and BIFF come together this year to promote a new program called ‘
FIRST LOOK’ Specifically for Bahamian Emerging Filmmakers.

The "FIRST LOOK" programme will assist first time filmmakers in creating original films, which will be considered for the 2011 BIFF. Both short and feature film entries are eligible to win a $5,000.00 cash prize award.
