Nassau, Bahamas -  ArtOvation with TaDa is a weekly one-hour radio show covering issues, interviews and introspection related to the developing and emerging arts and entertainment industries of The Bahamas.

This Saturday, April 2nd at 8am tune in to ArtOvation with
VLOG vixen TAP, & Shaniqua the Puppet on Star 106FM www.star106fm.com

“I don’t live in the moment; I live in the music” says Traceyann Perpall, a 21 year old singer/songwriter known as “TAP”. These words personify the uncontainable passion that emanates from this up and coming starlet. Born and raised on the beautiful island of New Providence, Bahamas, she comes from a generation of music with her grandfather and father being members of the Lou Adams Orchestra.

She grew up singing in her church choir, started writing songs at the age of 8 and would record them on her tape deck for friends to hear. As she progressed physically and musically, she formed a girl group in elementary school called “Generation Next” and would perform at school assemblies.

Moving on to junior high and high school, TAP’s passion for singing and performing remained as she continued to perform at school assembles. She even performed her first recorded song “You don’t have to hate” produced by highly regarded Bahamian producer, Showtime Shaddy in the 11th grade.  Participating in church and school plays and musicals such as “Godspell”, TAP further perfected her performance and vocal skills.

Upon graduating in 2007, she has dedicated her time, energy and heart to her music by working with well known producers like Showtime Shaddy, Antoyne “Jynx” Hinsey, Charlie Brown and Zoltan Johnson of STYPZ; a leading music production, publishing and writing group of The Bahamas. She also released three singles on the “Break” soundtrack with the FAM entertainment group and record label for the short film “Break”. Along with live performances at FAM FEST and the “Break” Premiere she has also done backup vocals for artists like “TraceyTracey” a popular father/son gospel group.

TAP is presently hard at work in the studio creating music that reflects her outstanding lyricism, smooth and soulful vocals, and passion for exploring different musical genres. As she puts it “Don’t call me R&B, Pop, Gospel. Just call me music.” Her appreciation for diversity in music and lyrical maturity are evident in songs such as “Crossover”, an alternative song about overcoming a past love. Her musical goals are to be signed by a major record company, release albums that touch the heart of millions, have an international tour and to continue to write music for other artists.  Additionally, she desires to break the ideals of what a black, Bahamian female singer should sound or look like or what musical genres they are confined to. Most of all she aims to show the world that The Bahamas has talent that should be recognized on an international level. TAP transcends musical boundaries, physical limitations and stereotypes of what it means to be a Bahamian female artist.

This budding starlet has recently most become popular for taking the Bahamian viral world by storm with her video blogs (vlogs), “TAP’s VLOGS”. These comedic, exciting, outspoken and sometimes satirical video blogs feature TAP’s social commentary about cultural issues or hot topics of interest for the youth of The Bahamas. Every Friday, over 1,400 of her fans tune into the vlogs that have recently featured short sketch comedy segments and features with local Bahamian talents and public figures such as TADA, Bodine “BE” Johnson, Sherice Major and Stefan Davis. These vlogs which are created, produced, written and directed by TAP are just a taste of her talent in the world of acting and being a personality that the public has gravitated to. She has also appeared/acted in several plays, musicals and short films including “Godspell”, “The Recession” and “Short and Unrelated Things”.

TAP has also taken her passions to the world of media as she is the managing editor for leading Bahamian print and online; music and entertainment magazine “E-life 242 Magazine”. Starting as a features writer for the magazine for 2009, TAP has brought the stories of many outstanding public figures such as Dion Da Butcha, Keri Hilson and The Natural Empress (just to name a few) to the attention of many readers in The Bahamas and the world.

This triple threat with a burning drive for the arts and an undeniable spark is well on her way to dominating every arena that she touches!
