Traffic Management for Dr. Myles Munroe & Pastor Ruth Munroe's State-recognized Funeral Service

Nassau, New Providence - The Memorial Service for the late Dr. Myles OBE, and Pastor Ruth Munroe, Founders of Bahamas Faith Ministries International, will be held on Wednesday December 3, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre.

The State-Recognized Funeral Service for the late Dr. Myles Munroe OBE and Pastor Ruth Munroe, will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 at the Diplomat Center - Carmichael Road.

Towards this end it is the intention of the POLICE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT:

To provide motor cycle escorts for the late Dr. Myles and Pastor Ruth Munroe; their bodies will be escorted from Bethel Brothers Morticians, Nassau Street, to Bahamas Faith Ministries International Carmichael Road.

To provide escort for the family for the official viewing from the Families residences to Bahamas Faith Ministries Carmichael Road, and back to their residences on Wednesday December 3, 2014.

To provide escorts for the family from their residences, to the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre; and from the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium to their residences after the Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

To provide escorts for the Governor General Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling, The Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Security and the Commissioner of Police. Additionally, the department will provide any other escort(s) that may be requested.

INTENTION

It is our intention to provide two (2) motorcyclists to escort the bodies of Dr. Myles and Pastor Ruth Munroe which will be in two (2) Hearses at a speed between 10 to 15 mph from Bethel Brothers Morticians, Nassau Street, to Bahamas Faith Ministries, Carmichael Road, on Wednesday, December 3, 2014at 8:30 am.

ROUTE

FROM BETHEL BROTHERS MORTICIANS, NASSAU STREET, TO BAHAMAS FAITH MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL ,CARMICHAEL ROAD

Travel south on Nassau Street to Thompson Boulevard, south on Thompson Boulevard to the Six Legged Round-About, around the Round-About to Bethel Avenue, south along Bethel Avenue to Sir Milo Butler Highway, south along Sir Milo Butler Highway to Carmichael Road, east on Carmichael Road to Bahamas Faith Ministries.

FROM THE CHURCH TO THE CEMETERY

Ø Travel west on Carmichael Road to Sir Milo Butler Highway,

Ø north onto Sir Milo Butler Highway to the Round-About at Tonique Williams-Darling Highway,

Ø West on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway to J.F. Kennedy Drive to the area of the Red Cross where the motorcade will form into a procession and travel west along J. F. Kennedy Drive onto Gladstone Road concluding at Lakeview Cemetery.

ROAD CLOSURE

From 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 3, 2014 the following Streets will be closed until after the Memorial Service:-

Ø Bahamas Games Boulevard - between Yellow Elder Way and Moss Road.

Ø Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre Road - between Thompson Boulevard and Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.

From at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday December 4, 2014 the following Streets will be closed until after the Funeral Service:-

· Carmichael Road between Mermaid Boulevard east and Mermaid Boulevard west

TRAFFIC DIVERSION

During the closure of Carmichael Road traffic will be diverted south along Mermaid Boulevard east to Golden Gates Strait, west along Golden Gates Strait to Mermaid Boulevard west, west along Mermaid Boulevard to Carmichael Road. Where necessary, traffic will be diverted along Fire Trail Road, Allen Drive and Faith Avenue; the public is asked to plan alternative routes to avoid any disruption, from the in place traffic management, during the length of the service at the church and cemetery.

During the procession from the church vehicular traffic travelling along Carmichael Road, Faith Avenue North and South, Sir Milo Butler Highway, Tonique Williams-Darling Highway, John F. Kennedy Drive and Gladstone Road will be diverted onto side streets for proper traffic management.

NO PARKING

From 6:00 a.m. on Thursday December 4, 2014 until after the church service no vehicles will be permitted to park along the following streets:-

§ Carmichael Road between Mermaid Boulevard East and West -

- Both Sides-

§ Sir Milo Butler Highway between Carmichael Road and Tonique Williams-Darling Highway - Both Sides

§ Tonique Williams-Darling between Sir Milo Butler Highway and John F. Kennedy Drive - Both Sides

§ John F. Kennedy Drive between Tonique Williams-Darling Highway and Gladstone Road - Both Sides

§ Gladstone Road between Bahamas Waste and J.F. Kennedy Drive

-Both Sides

PARKING

Parking will be permitted for persons attending the service at the following venues located on Carmichael Road:-

Ø parking lot of Bahamas Christian Fellowship Centre

Ø St. Gregory's Anglican Church

Ø Golden Gates World Outreach Ministries.

Ø the parking lot of South West Cathedral,

Ø Cousin McPhee Cathedral

Buses will be used to transport persons from the mentioned location to the church every 15 minutes. Parking on the church grounds are for reserved vehicles only.
