Bahamian reggae recording artist Avaran is getting ready to take his career to another level with the release of his new single entitled ‘Pretty Looks’. The track picks up from the buzz created by ‘Danger Zone’, the singer’s sophomore album released a few years ago.
'Pretty Looks' is produced by Blaza Music Group and is now available on several music download platforms.
Recorded on an authentic, one drop reggae beat, the song is actually a cover of a classic done by Earl Heptone of the legendary group, The Heptones. It is a laid back number, brought to life with Avaran’s soothing, melodic sound, reminiscent of the late great Garnett Silk. The song’s message is a reflective one, reminding listeners that there is more to life and love as he sings, “…pretty looks isn’t all.”
The release of the track, which is mixed by Golden Kid of Blaza Music Group, is expected to expand Avaran’s fan base, not only within the local Reggae community but across the region and internationally. His previous hits include ‘Only Jah’, ‘Let Jah Be Praised’ and ‘Powers That Be’, among others, which have spanned his almost twenty years in the music business.
Arising from humble beginnings in his home country of Bahamas, Avaran has rubbed shoulders with many Reggae stalwarts, including Half Pint, Beres Hammond and Mykal. His first album, titled ‘Short Rope’ was released to great acclaim in 1999 and the artiste has weaved in and out of the spotlight since then, releasing his second album 12 years later. He has had distribution deals, tours and stellar performances over the years, interspersed by dormant moments. Since coming back into the spotlight in 2007, he has spent time in Europe, recording singles for various labels and performing at a number of events.
With his new single out, Avaran continues to regain his past popularity by working with noted producers and labels in Europe, the Bahamas and now Blaza Music Group in Jamaica.
