Grand Bahama Island - On May 6th, 2009 The Bahamas Weekly was pleased to invite Bahamian Snowboarder Korath Wright to Grand Bahama Island for a visit with local media and interview opportunity which will be featured soon on TheBahamasWeekly.com.

The trip was sponsored by SkyBahamas Airlines, Pelican Bay Hotel and Brice Limo Service

While on Grand Bahama, Korath, who will be the first Bahamian to compete in a Winter Olympics this February 2010 in Vancouver Canada, appeared on radio at Cool 96FM with Hubert G, and Love 97 with Shelly Carey.  Ricardo Lightbourne from ZNS also interview Korath for local TV News and radio.

Korath and his publicist, Elizabeth Cooper and personal photographer, Alex Neun were treated to breakfast at Pelican Bay and to lunch at Sabor Restaurant.

In the afternoon Korath visited a skateboard half-pipe owned by Sedi Smith and met with a few local skateboarders, even putting in a few goes on the ramp himself.  Wright and his team made a courtesy call to the Grand Bahama Ministry of Tourism office and met with Terrance Roberts, Director Business Development & Communications; and Betty Bethel, G eneral Manager of product development.

In the afternoon and evening they took in a stop by Bikini Bottoms in Williams Town and then later the Post Cinco de Mayo party at Tony Macaroni's at Taino Beach, and a quick pass through Fish Fry in Smith's Point. Despite the power outages, they had a great time meeting the locals. Miss Grand Bahama 2009, Garelle Hudson also accompanied Korath and his support team, along with the 2008 queen Kerel Pinder.

Stay tuned for upcoming Video Coverage of Korath Wright's visit to Grand Bahama.
