Our beautiful Grand Bahama Labyrinth is now celebrating its very first Christmas, and at this beautiful time of the year, I invite each and everyone in our community to visit our Labyrinth in the resplendent Garden of the Groves to enjoy the blessings of this Christmas Season. A joyful Carols Around the Labyrinth party will take place on Sunday, December 21st at 4pm and everyone is invited to attend. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit upon.

I would remind you all that the Path of the Labyrinth is a spiritual tool for healing and peace. It represents a personal journey to our Creator, and a symbolic destination path.

The first Christian Labyrinth represented ‘the way’ to the temple in the holy city of Jerusalem.

The Advent and Christmas walks on the path remind us of the difficult journey to Bethlehem, which, as for the early Pilgrims, was very arduous, especially for Mary, heavy with child.

It provides us with a wonderful opportunity to replicate and reflect on that journey, so long ago, when the Holy Child was finally born in a lowly manger in the little town of Bethlehem.

All people came to celebrate the birth of the Holy Child. Let us all come together now on our beautiful Sacred Path, in celebration and love – bringing and receiving gifts of healing, blessings and peace   which will reverberate across our Island and our Planet.

During the months ahead, we will join together on our Labyrinth to walk ‘The Seasons’, and celebrate the important ‘events and festivals’ in the life of all mankind.

Let us all celebrate each other’s festivals and teach the world to sing in harmony!

My Christmas wish is for everyone to enjoy the special gifts of the Labyrinth – healing and peace on earth, with love for all creation.

Our Labyrinth speaks with the words of St. Francis   - ‘Make me an Instrument of Thy Peace’!
