General Aviation Pilots Challenged to visit all 20 Bahamas Ports of Entry

Fort Lauderdale, FL –  The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has announced  their partnership with Pilot Mall.com aviation superstore,  in an exciting promotion designed to promote tourism and encourage general aviation travel throughout The Islands Of The Bahamas.

The promotion challenges participants to visit all twenty Bahamian Airports of Entry (AOE) during the 2011 calendar year. Each participant is given a promotional passport book upon registration. Visits to the different Airports of Entry are validated by Bahamas Immigration and/or Customs officials who will stamp the promotional passport books.

Announcing the promotion, Mr. Greg Rolle, Chief Aviation Specialist  for The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, noted that “The Islands of The Bahamas is a multiplicity of destinations with some 20 airports and we are excited about the opportunity to show off the  diversity of our Islands.  We offer 16 distinctly different island destinations including  our capital city of Nassau and the Island of Grand Bahama. Also, Islands such as Exuma, Eleuthera, Abaco, Cat Island and Inagua each offer unique features and are waiting to be explored.”

Mr. Rolle also advised that Bahamas “Gateway” FBO (Fixed Based Operator) partners are prepared to assist participants, when leaving and returning to the U.S.  “The support staff at the “Bahamas Preferred”  FBO’s are equipped  to educate pilots who have not previously visited The Bahamas about how easy it is to fly there and back, ” he said.

Announcement comments were also made by Neil Glazer, President of PilotMall.com, who said of the event his company is co-partnering in, “We have been working on this program for quite some time and we’re ecstatic that it is becoming a reality.  We think this program is a win-win for all involved. Pilots now have yet one more great reason to visit the beautiful Islands of The Bahamas. We’re confident this program will quickly become an annual tradition.”
