Nassau, Bahamas - Bahamas film commissioner, Craig Woods recently attended Association of Film Commissioner International (AFCI) at the Cineposium where he reconnected with legendary filmmaker Roger Corman.

It was in 2004 when Roger was honored by Bahamas International Film Festival, (BIFF) at the recipient of it first "Career Achievement Award." In 1953 Roger sold his first screenplay, and since then he has been a major force in Hollywood. He made his first film as an independent producer, "The Monster From The Ocean Floor" on a budget of $18,000. This lead to an array of low-budget features for American International Pictures, he tackled a variety of genres, from western and gangster films, to sci-fi, to teenage hot rod and rock n' roll pictures.

Today Corman runs Concorde-New Horizons Productions, in 1990, he wrote in his autobiography "How I Made A Hundred Movies In Hollywood And Never Lost A Dime." The Bahamas Film and Television Commission extends congratulation to Roger Corman for his many years of dynamic filmmaking and his nomination by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to receive an honorary Oscar at next year' Academy Awards.
