WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – The islands of The Bahamas was a major hit at the Rib Roundup Country Music Festival held recently in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Concertgoers got a taste of the Bahamian culture and in particular, a sneak preview of what Grand Bahama has to offer.
Mango, Grand Bahama’s leading musician, charmed audience and concertgoers to the sounds of the Bahamas, as he sang, danced and played his keyboard, tambourine and maracas shakers.  Some festival goers joined in the cultural ‘ring play’ dances at the Bahamas booth while others, relaxed in hammocks aligned against the enormous backdrop photo of the Gold Rock beach, which was recently voted, the best beach in the world, by USA Today Reader’s Choice Awards.
Scores of patrons registered to win an exclusive vacation getaway to Freeport, Grand Bahama on the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, which departs daily from the port of West Palm Beach.

According to Tina Lee, District Sales Manager, Bahamas Tourist Office (BTO) in Plantation, “we have used this opportunity to showcase the beauty, charm and diversity of Grand Bahama Island as well as its easy access from any of Florida’s gateways”.

Pictured are some of the children that stopped by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism's booth to join in the festivities of The Bahamas during the recent Rib Round Up Country Music Festival.

“In just a few minutes, by air or under three hours by cruise ship, guests can experience the incredible beauty, serenity and unspoiled charm of Freeport, Grand Bahama.  From amazing award winning beaches like Gold Rock beach, where the sand mats stretches for miles, to exploring archeological and historical sites like the Lucayan National Park which features one of the world’s largest underwater cave systems, to swimming with dolphins in crystal clear waters and visiting all six of the Bahamas’ eco-systems in one trail to delighting in authentic native cuisine, the options are endless,” she said.
The Bahamas’ participation at Rib Round Up was part of the BTO-Plantation on-going partnership with Alpha Media Network, one of the organizers of the Country Music Festival.
