Cruise and Maritime Department Holds Tours Webinar

Nassau, Bahamas - The Cruise and Maritime Department at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) is hosting a tours webinar to connect scores of anxious tour operators with tourism and cruise officials.

Under the theme, “Exploring Opportunities Beyond COVID-19,” the webinar will be held via Microsoft Teams on July 14, 21, 23 and 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Director General of Tourism Joy Jibrilu, who will be presenting the keynote address at the opening of the webinar, encourages interested persons to register.

“We are certainly in unchartered territory and even as we are reopened, cruise lines are delaying their return to The Bahamas. And so, it is important that during this time we do all we can to prepare ourselves for their inevitable return. It is not business as usual and that’s why I encourage people to register to hear how business will be conducted with visitors going forward,” she said.

The topics for the webinar include Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) updates; local industry updates; small business matters and digital marketing post COVID-19.

Speakers include: Deputy Director General of Tourism Ellison ‘Tommy’ Thompson; Atlantis’ VP of Operations and Bahamas Hotel Tourism Association President Carlton Russell; Nassau Cruise Port CEO Mike Maura; Small Business Development Centre Managing Director Davinia Grant; Executive Director of the Tourism Development Corporation Janet Johnson; BMOTA Director of Digital Media Andre Miller and BMOTA Executive Director of Product Quality and Support Kenneth Romer.
