Bahamas Tourist Office (BTO) Canada host series of travel agent presentations to launch new GBI program

Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - The Bahamas Tourist Office in Canada kicked off a series of travel agent presentations to drum up business for the upcoming Sunwing Vacations program to Grand Bahama Island.

The first event was held recently at the Westin Hotel in downtown Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, Canada’s oil-rich province.  The event was attended by 80 select travel agents from the area’s top producing travel agencies who interacted with representatives from GBI hotels and Sunwing Vacations.

Janet Cuffie, National Manager at the BTO was host for the spectacular evening event and stated that this is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s initiative to support this new program to GBI.

“We are hosting these events across Canada in all of the markets where Sunwing Vacations will have direct service to Grand Bahama Island which is scheduled to launch in January of 2014..  These include the cities of Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Toronto and here in Edmonton, ” stated Ms. Cuffie.

The interactive presentation, conducted by Ambrose Morris, Communications Manager at the BTO, includes photos of GBI resorts, attractions, tours and festivals as well as an informative video featuring GBI tourism professionals introducing the sights and sounds of the destination.

Agents participating in the event were delighted with the presentation and expressed their joy at having ‘new product’ to offer to their clients this coming winter season.  Sunwing Vacations is reporting that early sales are robust for the new vacation programs.
