PLANTATION, Florida - For decades aviators have loved flying over the pristine waters and clear skies of The Islands Of The Bahamas, and June 25-29, 2014, some twenty-five pilots of Sun N Fun, led by Captain Mike Zidziunas, The Bahamas’ Flying Ambassador, will navigate the skies of Grand Bahama and Bimini.

The Fly-In is a result of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism (BMOT) sports department’s recent promotions at the 2013 Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) OshKosh Air Show and 2012 Bahamas Fixed Based Operator (FBO) familiarization trip.

The largest aviation show in Florida and second largest in the United States of America (to OshKosh Air Show), Sun N Fun, attracts more than 400,000 pilots to its annual show. Enamored with The Bahamas, in 2012, Sun N Fun conducted its first, five-days, Fly-In to Grand Bahama and Marsh Harbour, of which some sixty pilots participated. Sun N Fun has actively promoted The Bahamas and its Fly-In program on the front page of its main website http://www.sun-n-fun.org/

While in Grand Bahama, senior executives of Sun N Fun, including Captain John Leenhouts, its CEO and President, and Robert Knight, Chairman of the Board, will participate in this year’s Fly-In and are expected to hold high level talks on linkages, promotions and partnerships with The Bahamas Minister of Tourism and other senior executives from The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. The pilots will participate in a cocktail reception at the Grand Lucayan Resort, tour the West End airport and Old Bahama Bay Resort, as well as experience a glass bottom boat ride in Bimini and other adventure excursions in Bimini and Grand Bahama. Pilots extending their two-nights stay at the Bimini Bay Resort will receive a $150 fuel credit.

The Bahamas Fly-In Ambassador program, is a joint initiative with the BMOT and The Bahamas Aviation Department to increase pilots participation into The Islands Of The Bahamas and consist of seasoned pilots with extensive experience in flying into and around The Islands Of The Bahamas.
