Two Exciting 3-Set Battles for Junior Fed and Davis Cup Teams in Santo Domingo

(January 28) - The Bahamas Junior Fed Cup and Davis Cup Teams fought hard today. The Junior Fed Cup Team started their run for advancement with Sierra Donaldson against Chavarria from Costa Rica. The 2 and one half hours match ended in a win for the Bahamas as Sierra played great tennis. The results were 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 in favor of Sierra.

Sydney Clarke also played well but fell to Adrian a Munoz 4-6,3-6. The duo of Clarke and Donaldson sought to get the win with the deciding doubles match against Chavarria and Munoz of Costa Rica. The match went to a tiebreak 3-6, 6-4, 5-10 in favor of Costa Rica. Matchplay continues for the Fed Cup Team of Afrika, Sydney and Sierra who plays against Honduras once again and who they have played previously beat.
 
The Junior Davis Cup Team of Donte, Kofi and Yorgos played today against Barbados. Kofi Bowe played well but lost to Romani Mayers 2-6 4-6. Donte Ambrister played well and won over Kyle Frost 6-3, 6-3.  In the deciding doubles the Bahamas fought hard as Armbrister and Bowe went to three set but lost 6-1, 5-7, 11-9.

In the words of Coach Ceron Rolle, "The boys lost a tough tie against Barbados. Kofi Bowe lost in a tough match and Donte won a number singles. The boys lost in an epic three set battle and the lost the ten point tie breaker 11-9 and had one match point."
