Freeport, Grand Bahama Island -
Sarah Nuru, who was named Germany's Next Topmodel in 2009, was in Grand Bahama Island in early April
where she was a surprise guest on a top
model competition visiting from Germany, as well as corresponding for
the entertainment show Red! on ProSieben TV.
The
Bahamas Weekly News Team caught up with Sarah to interview her on April 9th at Tony
Macaroni's Conch Experience in Grand Bahama while she received a Conch 101
demonstration from Tony Macaroni, and learned how to remove the large ocean mollusk from its
shell as well as how to prepare the authentic Bahamian dish, conch
salad.
Also featured in this video is Angelika Ardelt, public relations coordinator from the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism office in central Europe who assist with the trip.
Nuru is from Munich and her parents immigrated to Germany from
Ethiopia. She is the first black person to win Germany's Next Topmodel
and won at the age of 19. The filming in Grand Bahama was coordinated
through the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Film and Television Commission
in Grand Bahama.
