Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - The Bahamas Weekly takes you back to the Red Rose Ball 2009 which was held on November 7th to introduce you to two lovely ladies (sister's in fact) who were sponsors of the ball and who were responsible for so many of the lovely outfits, jewels, etc worn by many of the guests at the HIV/AIDS awareness fundraiser.

In this video you will hear from Tamia Newton and Ruthann Lightbourne, owners of the new store at Port Lucaya called One Nine Six "1 9 6" , The Experience, specializing in exotic clothes and accessories from India. The pair have another 1 9 6 store at the International Bazaar.

In sync with the theme of this year's Red Rose Ball, "A Night at the Taj Mahal, India", these entrepreneurs met a great opportunity in supporting the important fundraiser, and in turn drew much attention to their products. Every one of the guests at the ball went home with a gift bag of Indian items from their store.

The store sponsored the outfit worn by Robbin Whachell.
