Grand Bahama Island - The Pelican Bay situated on the Port Lucaya Marina held a media event on July 8th to announce their repositioning as a destination 'meeting place', whether it be for local or offshore business meetings, smaller events or weddings. They also used the opportunity to launch their new logo and slogan which is, "Meet Happy". The event took place on the 5th floor of their new Canal House which is still under construction, but set to open in early 2010.

Pelican
Bay at Lucaya is owned by Sundt AS, a private investment company based
in Norway. Pelican Bay is the only investment that Sundt AS has in the
Bahamas.
Sundt AS is also the
majority shareholder of Pandox, which is a specialized European hotel
owning company, that currently owns 44 hotels in Europe and Montreal,
Canada (10,000 rooms).
Pandox' hotels operate under
well-known brands such as Scandic, Hilton, Radisson SAS, Crowne Plaza,
Choice or are independently managed.
