Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - They may be gone, but they will never be forgotten!  Up with People's 100 cast members, from 21 countries visited Grand Bahama from February 19th to the 24th to learn about the local culture, provide collectively over 2000 hours of community service, and put on a performance that for those that attended will never forget!

Up with People,
the international travel, community service and performing arts group which provides young people with an international education and experience definitely left a lasting impression on those in Grand Bahama that came into contact with them during their very busy 6-day stay.

The enclosed video was produced by Up with People and highlights the many activities they were involved in, including community service at the following:
the YMCA, the GB Red Cross, Lewis Yard, the Harvest Foundation, the Humane Society, the Keep GB Clean Committee, Urban Renewal, GB Home for the Aged, and the International Bazaar.

In this video you will hear from Mary Culmer of the Grand Bahama Red Cross as well as Terry Wildgoose of the Grand Bahama YMCA, and there are words and introductions from many of the young cast members.

This was Up with People's inaugural visit to The Bahamas and it is hoped that they will be back. The day after they arrived they helped create the first annual International Cultural Festival at the International Bazaar where they gave a preview of their spectacular performance on their final night in town called, "A Song for the World"

Up with People’s visit to Grand Bahama is sponsored by the Pelican Bay Hotel and Discovery Cruise Lines with support from their beneficiary, the Grand Bahama Youth Choir and with promotional and media support by The Bahamas Weekly.
