Freeport, The Bahamas - All the Rotary Clubs on Grand Bahama Island are coming together to create a lively day of family-friendly activities to showcase Rotary’s great service in the community on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 from 11 am to 5 pm, at Taino Beach Park.

Come on out for a day of fun and entertainment and be sure to invite your friends. No charge for admission. Hot-off-the-grill chicken and ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks are available for sale.  Special treats for the kids too, with the Rotary Wagon on hand for popcorn and cotton candy.

Ongoing events throughout the day will keep the family entertained with music, a Bouncy Castle, a Jiu-Jitsu demonstration, special performances by The Grand Bahama Youth Choir, The Police Department Fire Drill, a K-9 Unit demonstration, face painting, rock wall climbing, bingo, volleyball, and a mini-Junkanoo parade.

Rotary is a global service organization. Their 1.2 million members worldwide are neighbors, friends, and community leaders that come together to create positive, lasting change in their communities, and around the world.  Rotary International President, Gary C.K. Huang, has challenged Rotarians around the globe to “ … light up Rotary by organizing a Rotary Day to introduce everyone to the many wonderful causes and local service projects that are made possible with the support, volunteer work and donations of Rotarians.”

In Grand Bahama, there are 4 clubs:  Rotary Club of Freeport, Rotary Club of Lucaya, Rotary Club of GB Sunrise, and Rotary Club of GB Sunset, as well as the two Rotaract Clubs in Eight Mile Rock and Freeport, plus high school Interact clubs.

All of the Grand Bahama Rotary Clubs look forward to a terrific day of family fun and a celebration of all the great things volunteers can do together. Everyone is invited!
