Freeport, Bahamas - The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce Education Committee is pleased to announce The Legal Desk with Attorney at Law, Rengin Johnson, every Thursday from 5pm - 6pm at the Grand Bahama Chamber headquarters on Mall Drive, Freeport.

The Legal Desk is an initiative embarked upon by the Chamber's Education Committee headed by Mr. Esmond Weekes, Vice President of the Chamber. It's mandate is to equip, empower and educate the business populace through workshops, trainings and other avenues that will assist all businesses in meeting their potential. This is important to the Chamber as vibrant businesses means a vibrant economy. There will be additional sessions forthcoming over the next few weeks for a nominal investment. The Grand Bahama Business community is encouraged to participate as many of these offerings so we can build a thriving community that speaks a global language.

Attorney Ms. Ayse Rengin Johnson attended the North London University, in London, England where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law. She then obtained her Professional Qualification for the Degree of an Utter Barrister at the Council of Legal Education, London,  England.
 
In 1983, Ms. Johnson was called to the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn as an Utter Barrister.

During October 1992, Ms. Johnson was admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

After practicing as an associate counsel & attorney with the law firm of Callenders & Co., Attorney’s-at-Law, at their Freeport, Grand Bahama office for the period 1992 to 1995. Ms. Johnson during her vacation breaks acted as the Stipendiary & Circuit Magistrate in Court No. 3, and the Family Islands and acted as the Circuit Justice presiding appeals at the said Family Islands Circuit of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

From May 1999, Ms. Johnson was appointed as Deputy Chief Magistrate presiding on Circuit all the Magistrate Courts of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas with the exception of Nassau, New Providence.

In August 2000, Ms. Johnson established the law firm of Ayse Rengin Dengizer Johnson & Co. a proud continuation of her family tradition, which has produced a long line of judges and lawyers.

It was her life long desire to become a qualified lawyer, to practice the law, to ascend to the Bench, and to finally open her own law firm in a style and practice that represents her principles and motto.

The Firm’s motto is “No body is above the law”- Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658). It signifies to her equality, justice, peace, respect for life and environment.

The Firm prides itself on maintaining the following characteristics of timely completion of instructions, transparency with clients, honesty, thoroughness, and availability.
