Freeport, The Bahamas - Under the theme, “Continuation, Collaboration and Competition”, The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) would be hosting its annual banquet and installation of officers and directors on January 31, 2015 at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Lucayan Resort, Freeport.

Mr. Kevin D. Seymour, the 2014-2015 President of the GBCC, along with his officers and directors are inviting the business community of Grand Bahama and the general public to celebrate this evening with them and hear about their plans for the 2014-2015 year.

In keeping with the Mission Statement of the GBCC, “To provide the network, to sustain, promote and support business development in an effort to encourage sustainable growth and expansion in the Grand Bahama economy and within a healthy and clean community environment”, the president has chosen as his theme for the year, “Continuation, Collaboration and Competition”.

Continuation: The GBCC will continue the mandate set out by the past administration; which is to spur economic growth in Freeport and the wider communities of Grand Bahama Island, to advocate for the exemptions under the Hawksbill Creek Agreement to continue for the life of the Agreement.

Collaboration: To foster relationships and work with key stakeholders, the Grand Bahama Port Authority and Government, hence creating a platform for dialog and engagement in matters that affect the economic growth of the island.

Competition:The ultimate goal is to make Freeport and Grand Bahama Island a destination that is competitive by world standards.

The persons charged with fulfilling this theme, who will be installed at the banquet on January 31st include:

Kevin D. Seymour, President
Dillon F. Knowles, 1st Vice President
Larry Albury, 2nd Vice President
Dan Romence, Secretary
Christopher Baker, Treasurer
Janet Albury, Director
Patra Albury, Director
Mick Holding, Director
Lynn Lowe, Director
Lanecia Darville, Director
Angelika Christie, Director
Adrian Carey, Director
Godfrey Waugh, Director
Ralph Hepburn, Director
Charles Pratt, Director

The annual banquet and installation of officers is usually the biggest fund raiser for the GBCC every year and with the support of the public, they anticipate that this one would be the same. For ticket information you may visit the chamber’s office located on the mall drive, Freeport or contact them at telephone number (242) 352-8329. The guest speaker for this event would be Political/Economic and Commercial Chief, David Allen of the US Embassy and there would be lots of great entertainment.
