ATLANTA, Georgia - Bahamas Consul General to Atlanta Randy E. Rolle is
extending sympathy to those affected by the November 9, 2014 plane
crash in the Bahamas which claimed the life of international evangelist
and author Dr. Myles Munroe and his delegation.
Among those lost in
the tragedy was Radel Parks who became acquainted with the Bahamas
Consul General’s Office of Atlanta last year while a student at Savannah
College of Art and Design. A graduate of the New York Film Academy,
Parks sister Ranel were the twin force behind Redemptive Productions
which produced workshops, plays and worked with major names such as
Brett Ratner of the Rush Hour film franchise.
Parks perished with
her young son Johannan and her husband, award-winning musician and
founder of the Bahamas Hip Hop Fest and Dunamus Soudz Records, Lavard,
who was known by his stage name Manifest. The couple were recently
ordained Youth Pastors at Bahamas Faith Ministries International, where
they were married almost a decade ago.
“Radel was full of life and a
pleasure to be around,” said Rolle. “She was extremely gifted and when
she was introduced to us, I was amazed at her desire to want to expand
the film industry in The Bahamas. I invited her to the Bronze Lens
Awards and to tour the Bobbcat Film Studios of Atlanta where she made an
immense impression. In fact, she and my publicist were finalizing dates
for her to collaborate with us to bring an American actress over to
participate in a workshop she and her twin sister would take the helm
on.”
“This is a tremendous loss to us here in Atlanta and to The
Commonwealth of The Bahamas,” added Rolle. “We extend our heartfelt
sympathy to all of the families affected by this tragedy and we mourn
along with the nation as we try to come to grips with this matter. May
they all rest in peace.”
