The motto: Making a difference…one queen at a time.

The 2013 Miss Teen Bahamas International is underway. With eleven of the country’s finest young ladies undergoing a series of personal development and training sessions including modeling and communications this year’s pageant promises to offer a spectacular showcase of talents.

True to form the Miss Teen Bahamas International has already shown that it means business living up to its motto. Oh, did we tell you the sensational national costume competition is back!

Yes, MTBI director Anthony Smith said, “I don’t know why or how come we lost that in national pageants in the first place. I know many persons don’t see it as necessary but  truly it adds to the glitz and glamour of the events. Speaking for our own pageant, this is a favorite for many of our young ladies. It gives them an opportunity to research and find something indigenous that depicts our history and culture in the form of design.”

The other categories are Fashion Couture and Evening Gown Competition which will take place 4th May ,2013 at the New El Greeco Beach Hotel, West Bay Street.

From the day of the exciting debut that was hosted at Mario’s Bowling to Glamour Shoot sessions at Creative Photography, the contestants producing their personal public service announcement film and presenting it in an enclosed setting to a panel of highly qualified and experienced judges from various spectrum of Bahamian society. The revitalization and restoration of intelligent pageant with a meaningful cause is coming back.

MTBI is a community service and Cause based pageant that focuses on what each young lady is passionate about in her society of which she would like to change, educate and or advocate. Her awareness campaign must be filled with things that she has done relevant to her platform, things the young lady is currently working on and future plans for initiatives regarding the same. Contestants of all range and proximity from Family Island delegates, College of The Bahamas, private and public schools, honour students and future leaders are the kind contestants that the pageant has been attracting. And base on some of presentation  on the MTBI social media platforms, it looks like the competition is going to be fierce leading right up to the crowning!

The pageant is slated for 12th May, 2013 at the Rainforest Theatre, Wyndham Resort & Crystal Palace.

Tickets are available at J-Line fitness, opposite the Shirley Street Shopping Plaza and BCBG on Cable Beach.  Corpor ate sponsors include Bahamas Local, J-Line Fitness, BahamasBizzBuzz, Kemis, PJ Wholesale Enterprises, Suntime and Canvus Art Studios. LIKE your favourite contestant.
