Neville & Nora Dorsett Community Center - Grand Opening! October 20, 2018
Location: Grant’s Town, Lewis Street (Over-the-Hill)
Time: 11am – 3 pm

Lend a Hand Bahamas (LAHB) has been a Bahamian nonprofit organization since October 2014 following the realization of the need for more opportunities and activities in inner-city areas in Nassau and the family islands. We are currently directly impacting youth and adults in the Grant’s Town area of Nassau as well as smaller initiatives on a few family islands. Lend a Hand Bahamas recently merged forces with another organization called Lignum Vitae 4-H to facilitate 4-H programming for youth in the Grant’s Town community through the Neville & Nora Dorsett Community Center that is nearing completion in Grant’s Town. This Center will feature 4-H programming combined with innovative programs from around the Bahamas and abroad focused around computer science, financial literacy, empowering young women, health, and in many other areas. The Center and our efforts will be a model that we plan to replicate in other communities as needed in the Bahamas to yield high impact at low cost with a high level of transparency. We will have a special Grand Opening celebration on October 20,2018 at which all are welcome to attend. The event will feature food, music, activities for children, and musical performances. The grand opening ceremony will take place from 12:00 pm- 12:30 pm.
