Nassau, The Bahamas - For the fifth consecutive year Scotiabank has partnered with Hands for Hunger to provide meals for Bahamians in need at Thanksgiving.
“At Scotiabank we have long supported the well-being of the communities in which we live, work and do business. This partnership is a staple on our calendar each year. It is refreshing to know that our donation will help Hands for Hunger to provide 10,000 meals for families in our community this holiday season,” said Maxine Seymour, Scotiabank’s Manager for Sponsorships & Philanthropy.
In addition to the $10,000 direct donation to Hands for Hunger, Scotiabank volunteers will treat children infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS to a special Thanksgiving Meal and other surprises this Wednesday, November 25. The children are a part of The Bahamas AIDS Foundation’s after-school program which is one of Hands for Hunger’s recipient agencies.

Hands For Hunger is a humanitarian organization committed to the elimination of unnecessary hunger and the reduction of food waste through food rescue and distribution, education and other innovative solutions. The 14 outreach agencies that Hands for Hunger currently serves provide more than 10,000 meals each week to Bahamians in need of emergency food assistance.
