NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Sunshine Finance Ltd. will sponsor on behalf of Urban Renewal 250 persons for Sunshine Insurance's upcoming ‘Marathon Bahamas Race Weekend’ in January.  The Urban Renewal Commission and Sunshine Finance announced the 2016 Marathon Bahamas Race Weekend partnership, November 10, at Arawak Homes Head Office.

The sponsorship was graciously accepted by Co-Chair of the Urban Renewal Commission Cynthia “Mother” Pratt.  Mother Pratt thanked Sunshine Finance on behalf of Urban Renewal because, she said, the job of Urban Renewal is to transform lives and help young people understand there is a better way.  She said that for many sports can be a lifesaver, and this would be “the first time many of these kids will compete at this level.”

President of Sunshine Finance Rosel Moxey said, “we believe the age old adage that 'it takes a village to raise a child'.  We also believe that while it may be said often, it is the truth that our youth are our future -- as such, Sunshine Finance is proud to partner with Urban Renewal as an entity that focuses on empowering and guiding the youth of our country.  Specifically today, Sunshine Finance is proud to announce its sponsorship of Urban Renewal in Sunshine Insurance's Race Weekend 2016."

Of the 250 participants, there will be 50 relay teams for Marathon Bahamas and 50 registrants for the Susan G. Komen Bahamas Race for the Cure.  The Race Weekend takes place January 16-17, 2016.
