Nassau, Bahamas - Supermodel of the Bahamas is officially underway and 7 beautiful women from seven of our Bahamian Islands are representing.  The theme SPLASH this year was established to focus on the beauty of our Bahamian waters. Now accomplishing eight seasons of the event Supermodel of the Bahamas, the model search will display seven beautiful ethnic young women from seven Bahamian islands.

This year's finalists are from Inagua - Kyra Gibson; New Providence - Miar Rolle; New Providence - Katiana St' Julian; Exuma - Sarah Brown;  Andros - Jennifer Petitfere;  Cat Island - Wi'de Baraccen; and from Grand Bahama - Misty Thompson.

"I'm especially excited this year as we again have support from a good friend Beth Sobol, founder of Miami Fashion Week," said OilinSha Coakley, Founder of Supermodel of the Bahamas. "Miami Fashion Week is where many international supermodels began their careers. She will bring new and interesting opportunities for the winner and great tips for the girls that are competing this year.  All seven young women are working especially hard to gain scores leading up to the finale. We wish them all the best!"

Supermodel of the Bahamas is the #1 model search in the country which discovers new faces and new vocal talents. It was founded by Oilinsha Coakley, owner of Oilinsha Models and Talent, Nassau. Similar to America's Next Top Model the candidates are selected, trained and pushed to perform, whereupon it becomes obvious after photo shoots, runway shows, and interviews, who is made for the life of a model.
