Freeport, Bahamas –  Bradford Marine Bahamas, LTD is proud to announce the promotion of Ray Lightbourne to Assistant Superintendent-Bahamas. Ray, a Freeport local, was hired by Bradford Marine Bahamas in 2010. As a certified Scuba Diver, Ray started his Bradford career in the Lift Department, inspecting the underwater docking in the drydock area and acting as the "eyes" for the surface docking crew.

Ray's experience as a captain led him to oversee the training operations for Bradford Marine tug boats that maneuver the yachts and commercial vessels into the 1,200 ton Floating Drydock. Having a strong knowledge of IT and computer networking, Ray effectively worked his way up to IT Specialist and Assistant Drydock Manager.

Ray continues to show a "can do" attitude. He is always thinking ahead and willing to assist in any department. In his newly appointed position as Assistant Yard Superintendent, Ray will supervise the operation and maintenance of a 1200 ton Floating Drydock at Bradford Marine Bahamas.

Dan Romence, General Manager-Bahamas, says, “Ray has always demonstrated his ability to work hard and learn new disciplines. This attitude made it an easy choice to promote him to Assistant Yard Superintendent. I am certain that Ray will continue management growth within the company.”
