Freeport, Bahamas – For many years the community of Grand Bahama has witnessed some of the Bahamas’ top performers and performances on the stage of the Regency theatre. A non-profit organization, the Freeport Players’ Guild seeks to not only provide quality productions on the stage but also off stage. With earlier success in the year with ‘Operation Island Hunt: Island Wide Scavenger hunt’, the FPG continues this October by hosting another community event.

October 10th 2015 will be a very exciting day for the Freeport Players’ Guild and the community of Grand Bahama. In true theatrical style, the Zombie Run is not just your average fun/run walk. In a game of Humans v.s Zombies the Zombie Run more or less takes the approach of ‘flag football’, of course without actually using a football. Human runners will be given tags that Zombies will attempt to grab while completing the course. The main Zombie Run/Walk will take each contestant through a forest trail just shy of 3 miles long to the NNW of Garden of the Groves. The race will begin promptly at 5pm from the Garden of the Groves parking lot and end at the same location. The kids Zombie chase will take place shortly after 6pm (depending on when the main race is completed) and held inside Garden of the Groves following their main walking path. Participants will compete for amazing prizes including gift certificates from Unexso, Agave, amazing art pieces by local artist, free photography packages and much more.

Participants are encouraged to sign up today and can obtain registration forms online on the Freeport Players’ Guild facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/regencytheatre) or they can fill out and return applications to Dennison and Co. located on the first floor of the Millennium house. There will be late registration beginning at 4:00pm October 10th at the Garden of the Groves.

This will truly be a fun/run event like no other! Whether persons compete in the Zombie Run or not we encourage the community to come out to our ‘post-apocalyptic’ party. Entrance is FREE and will be held at the Garden of the Groves following the Zombie Run!
