Freeport, The Bahamas – The Grand Bahama Sailing Club (GBSC) welcomes all adults on the island to the Sculling Gullywash Event on Friday 26th June, 2015. It will be a fun night for all our gullywash lovers!

This will be a great event for adults and parents on the island where they can enter and share their best gullywash recipes and enjoy classic Bahamian music. Those who do not wish to enter the competition are welcomed to come on out and vote on their favorites while still knowing they are helping out the local sailors.

Gullywash should be brought between 6:00pm and 6:30pm in the serving method of your choice, one to five gallons are recommended but more will be greatly appreciated. Each gullywash will be voted on discreetly through a tally system.

The event will begin at 7pm.  People can bring adult family and friends to enjoy a great Bahamian themed night with samples of local foods and happy hour to begin.

People can vote, before 9pm, for their favorite gullywash, but also for the most pieces of coconut and hence, chunkiest, and of course the strongest!  The winners will be announced at 9:30pm and will receive their very own young coconut tree and a gift certificate courtesy of Ocean Motion Water Sports.

Thanks to the Grand Bahama Sailing Club’s instructors the Clubhouse will be fully decorated to meet the coconut theme and great Bahamian tunes will be playing all night along with old school reggae and dancehall.

For members, tickets will be FREE if gullywash is brought and $10 without.  Tickets for non-members bringing gullywash will be $5 and $15 without. This event is a fundraiser for the Grand Bahama Sailing Club that is striving to build up the youth sailing and social programme.  The Summer Sailing Camp session 1 has commenced and is already a great success thanks to all our instructors, volunteers and sponsors! There are still three more Camps to go and we need the support of the community.
