The Year 4 students at Lucaya International School went on a fun field trip to Grand Bahama Power

lant last week, as they were learning about electricity for their Unit of Inquiry. Students got a first-hand look at
how the
steam and diesel plant
operate
and how
the
electricity
that
they use every day in their homes
is created
.
"Hands on experience is great for the children and the Grand Bahama
Power staff were super,they really knew how to speak to the children,"
said LIS Year 4 Teacher Sharron Waterhouse. She escorted 16 students
along with three parent chaperones who were guided through the plant by
Vaughn Cartwright, Shift Supervisor and Edrondo Thompson, Operator
Trainee.“It is always a great experience when the school students come
by for tours of the plant. We are able to provide them with a little
bit of the knowledge gained from years of experience here at the plant"
