Freeport, Grand Bahama, - On March 24th, 2009 the Pinder Family hosted a cocktail reception at Mary Ann’s Restaurant to honour the individuals and companies that have contributed to Kerel Pinder, Miss Grand Bahama 2008 – 2009 during the past year.

As Kerel Pinder Miss Grand Bahama 2008 – 2009 nears the end of her reign she wishes to thank the many people who helped her reign to be such a successful one. Kerel says "as Queens and community builders we tend to call on numerous business and 'persons in the community to help us reach higher heights. As we travel on this journey what we must remember to say is thanks".
Kerel understands that being a Queen is not only about wearing a crown but about giving back to your community. She feels that this would have not been possible without these special people who have contributed to her success. During this year she has had the opportunity to travel to New Providence every weekend for four months to participate in the Miss Bahamas Beauty Pageant, and received funding to help with entrance fees and wardrobes for events during her reign. These are just some of the privileges Kerel has had during her reign. Therefore she wishes to show her appreciation to the Grand Bahama community for embracing her as their Queen and helping her to enjoy a fabulous year !

On March 24th, 2009 these companies, organizations and individuals were recognized for their contributions Western Air, Seventeen Shop, Isle Capri Casino, her director Mr. Glenn Davis, the Miss Grand Bahama Organization, Chamber of Commerce, Discovery Cruise Lines, The Rotary club of Freeport, The Rotary Club of Sunrise, Foto Factory, Gizmo's and Gadgets, Lewis Yard Primary School, the Beacon School.
