Miss Junior Grand Bahama Crowns New Queens

Freeport, Bahamas - On Saturday July 28th 2012, the Miss Junior Grand Bahama Organization celebrated there fourth anniversary under the theme “It’s a Celebration.” The Regency Theatre, filled with supporters, was lit up and graced by six young ladies who competed for two titles, Miss Junior Grand Bahama Pre Teen and Miss Junior Grand Bahama. Contestants competed in talent, swimsuit, evening gown, and final question. The overall results were as follows:

Waynella Archer- Miss Junior Grand Bahama Pre -Teen

Savannah Sawyer- 1st runner up Miss Junior Grand Bahama Pre -Teen

Malia Pelcanos – 2nd runner up Miss Junior Grand Bahama Pre- Teen

Shavon Nottage - Miss Junior Grand Bahama

Raven Najman - 1st runner up Miss Junior Grand Bahama

Audenique Edden – 2nd runner up Miss Junior Grand Bahama.

Waynella, winner of the pre- teen category, not only managed to win the title, but took home other awards including,  Best Interview, Queen’s Choice, and Best Evening Gown. Waynella will receive a $500.00 scholarship prize, other prizes, and will travel to represent the Bahamas during her reign. This 12 year old from the Bishop Michael Eldon School said that she was excited to win and knows that this will be a life changing experience.

Winner of the teen category, a 6ft, 16 year old, Bahamian beauty, Shavon Nottage, was also successful in capturing other awards on pageant night. She claimed Best Evening Gown, Best Body, Best Talent, Photogenic, and Queen’s Choice Award. Shavon will receive a $1000.00 scholarship prize, free dental care, free yearly photo shoots, other prizes and the chance to represent the Bahamas internationally in 2013. As a part of her prize, Shavon traveled to New Providence on Sunday July 29th, 2012 to watch the Miss Bahamas Pageant where she met Miss Universe 2011-2012 Lelia Lopes, Braneka Bassett – Miss Bahamas 2010, and a host of other public icons. She was also asked to be featured in an upcoming issue of Profiles magazine. This marks a great start to her reign. Shavon says that she is humbe to hold this title and is determined to represent the Miss Junior Grand Bahama Organization to the best of her ability.
