Outstanding Services recognized by Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -  Julio Cooper, Driver, Stuart Sweeting,  Storeroom Supervisor, and Clayton Saunders – Executive Chef, were recognized as Employee of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Manager of the Year respectively at the 18th Annual Staff Christmas Party and Awards Night at Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort.

The Guest Service Department, under the leadership of Kendall Burrows, Guest Service/By Request Manager was recognized as the Outstanding Department for 2009.

Special recognition was also afforded Harry Pratt, Stephen Williams and Lidia Saunders, who have provided long and dedicated service to Viva WyndhamFortuna Beach over the years. This was done through a basketball tournament named in the trios honour and held in December to unite employees and motivate them during the down turn in the economy.

Medals were awarded to all participants of the Winter Basketball Tournament.

Guillermo Lachapel, General Manager, said “The tournament made a great difference as it truly motivated our staff and gave them an extra boost to continue to provide excellent service to our guest here at Viva Wyndham Fortuna.

“It also gave our guest the opportunity to come out and watch the games as well which they really enjoyed,” said Lachapel. The tournament was held on the property.

Best 2-Point Shot Award was awarded to Rodan Porter – Bellman, center, of the Front Office Department. A total of eight departments and 45 employees participated in the tournament, which was won by the Kitchen Department; in 2nd place was the Restaurant Department, and in 3rd place the Engineering Department. Further tournaments will be held in 2010 and will include volleyball and softball.
