Freeport, Grand Bahama - In celebration of the 41st Anniversary of Independence of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, The Ministry for Grand Bahama invites all residents and visitors to come together and join in the country’s Independence festivities under the theme “Celebrating Our Culture – A Commitment to Peace”.
The celebrations will begin with several Pre-Independence Day Ecumenical Church Services which will be held in communities throughout the island of Grand Bahama. The schedule of activities is as follows:
Monday June 30th at 7pm – Ecumenical Church Service at St. Mary Magdalene, West End
Thursday July 3rd at 6pm – Launch of Goombay Summer Activities at Taino Beach
Saturday, July 5th at 7pm – An invitation only Cocktail Reception hosted by The Minister for Grand Bahama, The Hon. Dr. Michael Darville and Mrs. Darville
Monday, July 7th at 7pm – Ecumenical Church Service at Bethel Deliverance Center, Eight Mile
Rock
Wednesday, July 9th at 8:30pm – Special Service of Thanksgiving and Flag Raising Ceremony at
Independence Park, Freeport
All are invited and encouraged to be a part of this cultural celebration.
