Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - The Red Haute Couture event on February 6th was another fabulous event put on by Freeport Jewelers.  The Mansion set the perfect stage for a first class production of jewels, fashion, music, models, food and drink.

Guests arrived and were given gift boxes with a jewelry surprise of a fresh water pearl bracelet before having a complimentary glass of wine and a photo taken at the entrance to the mansion.

The beau tiful staircase on the back of the building was a perfect focal point and VIP guests were seated in tables around the pool area with a complimentary bottle of wine per table, and food provided by Agave Restaurant delivered to their tables.  VIPs were given gifts of a fresh water pearl necklace, chocolates, and pineapple rum - a pretty sweet deal for only a $50 VIP ticket!

The night was breezy and cool, but the lively commentators (Yolanda from Cool 96 and Pakeisha from ZNS) and DJ Jamal kept everyone entertained between breaks in the fashion show that kept everyone captivated for a couple of hours.

Local models outshone the visiting models from America but it was nice to see fresh f aces on the runway. The event opened with Freeport Jewellers displaying their gems, watches and accessories. Visiting from the U.S. w as Judy Couture, La Belle Top Model
and Jeannie Makeup Artist.  Local songstress, Raquel Oliver delivered a beautiful performance of her hit song, "Stronger and Wiser", and it was great to see local rapper Dolly Boy modeling clothes by M*15. Other stores featured in the show were
The Curiosity Shop, Animale, Bandolera, and Traffic Bahamas.

After the show the DJ pumped up the music and most stayed on to party and dance in The Mansion.

The event was organized by Loren
Loren Wells-Madu (Freeport Jewellers), Chima Madu and Denise Smith.  I left wondering how this young hip group group of organizers can top this event the next time!

It was definitely a night to remember !
