Grand Bahama Island - The Princess Club was started in September 2005 to instruct girls from the age of 5 - 17 God's principles of virtue.  The club offers 6 week sessions which concentrates on various topics each week like, what it means to be a lady, woman by God's design, what it means to be a princess, the conduct and characteristics of being a princess, the fear of the Lord, presenting your body to God, the purpose of marriage and sex, how to stay sex free, etiquette, and house cleaning tips.  The club's mission is to encourage girls to stay sex free until they are married.  The club is organized under the umbrella of Calvary Temple and has recently been renamed the Princess Ministries to incorporate all of girls from throughout Grand Bahama because with just being called the Princess Club some girls felt they were not free to become apart of it.

The Princess Ministries is also about "transforming girls into ladies", and helping parents with this important transition in the lives of their daughers.

Since its inception, the Princess Ministries has launched an annual conference that takes place in the month of June.  It is a 2 night 1 day full session conference where 10 topics are covered to motivate and encourage young ladies to pursue God's best, and to be individuals that stand against peer pressure in the area of morality and to be the ones that set the standard instead of falling into the norm.

Just 2 weeks ago the 6 week session ended with a Princess Ceremony where 24 girls pledged before God, parents and peers to stay "sex free" (pure) until they are married.  It was a beautiful ceremony that lasted only 1 hour where girls were dressed in beautiful gowns with tiaras.  In attendance was the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly and MP for Pineridge Constituency Honorable Kwasi Thompson and his wife Tamecka, as their daughter Jaden made the pledge.  Many fathers and moms were there also has they said a prayer of comittment over their daughters and pledge to help guide them through this very important stage of their lives.
The Parents would adorn their princesses with a necklace as they say the prayer, the necklace is a symbol of purity and a reminder for the princesses to say no to pre-marital sex whenever they are tempted. Each six week session ends with this sacred ceremony to mark an important step in the lives of the young ladies.

The Founder of the Princess Club is Mrs. Rochelle A. Lockhart, the wife of Rev. Robert Lockhart the Senior Pastor of Calvary Temple, Freeport.  Together they serve the wonderful people of Calvary Temple, and the community of Freeport.  Mrs. Lockhart is actively involved in full time ministry with her husband and they have 3 sons, Raoul, Raphael, and Remez.

Just recently Mrs. Lockhart has written a 31 day daily devotional called "The Princesses Devotional" for teens and preteens seeking a closer walk with Jesus Christ.  The book is available online at amazon.com or copies can be purchased from the church on Clive Ave.
