Freeport, Grand Bahama - Pastor Barry B. Morris the consumate "Musician Extraordinaire". Born into a world where opportunities abound, but can also provide you with setbacks; his resilience is astounding. On Saturday January 16th, 2010, all persons in attendance at The Church of God of Prophecy, Coral Road, Grand Bahama, got to experience the quiet depth of his love for the fine art of music and how it should be presented, his dedication, his riveting directives and passion for an art most certainly older than himself, but he has certainly awaken the demons of doubt in his ability to showcase first class performance on the level of a Sydney Orchestra House Repetoire. Masterful in his appearance, aware of his musical notes even during the loudest of sounds, dominating in bringing to the fore the best of his Band Members to a performance never seen in these Isles known to us as The Bahamas.

From the opening of the curtains, one sensed the difference in the air of The Bahama Brass Band typical concert; we knew we were in for a treat. The music vibrated of the walls of the church halls, it was precise, definitive, balanced and it drew you in so much so that your reaction was more than engaging, you were in awe of the staging, the resurgence of Band members long gone returning to their first introduction to the school of music. So out of the ordinary was this event, that the silent whispers of the best concert ever, best preformance ever, most organized event ever, went like hushed utterance within and without the Halls of the event. Oh! but the music, yes the music the best ever.

Why so significant? because The Bahama Brass Band(Grand Bahama Segment) celebrated more than 50years of organizational structure and performance of this August Body of men that started in 1958 as a means of recruiting souls for Christ. Their journey evolved to World Reknown successes, their demand for concerts, conventions, private events and the like became the expected. What Barry B. Morris bought to this 50th, celebration is an understanding of the underlying currents of possibilities and opportunities, talents and thirst for the advancement and broadening of awareness of the importance of The Grand Bahama Segment of The Bahama Brass Band and he succeeded in doing so. Those of us in attendance we took notice, we saw, we appreciate and we look forward to more. A job well done Bishop Barry B. Morris Maestro Extraordinaire.
