Freeport, Grand Bahama - SkyBahamas Airlines is expending its presence in Freport by hosting a series of Corporate and Public events set to give the company the competitive edge it has been enjoying throughout all of its other destinations.

The team will be in Freeport over the next several days and will be led by Company President and CEO, Captain Randy Butler and Mr. Peter Turnquest, Chairman of The Board and also the local Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce President.

According to Mr. Kenneth Romer, a Senior Company Executive the aim of the Freeport visit is two-fold: firstly, to reinforce the company's brand in Grand Bahama, and to  secondly reaffirm the company's commitment  to delivering safe and reliable airline service while giving customer's value for their money.

"SkyBahamas is proud of its very rich legacy of giving back to and supporting the communities which have embraced our services." Romer adds, "It is now surprise that the Grand Bahama economy has been dealt a harsh economic blow in recent times, and so we felt it our civic and corporate duty to answer the call to do significantly more for the wonderful people of Grand Bahama."

To provide immediate relief to its local clients the company reduced base round trip fares between Freeport and Nassau to $119.99,  introduced special rates for school aged children, groups and the religious community and also recently announced a reduced rate  of $99.99 for persons traveling round trip within the same day.

SkyBahamas Airlines CEO, Captain Butler reaffirms his company's commitment to expanding the menu services available to Grand Bahama. According to Butler the company which is a finalist for the 2010 National Cacique Awards for Transportation, has the required authorizations to commence flights between Freeport and Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm, Florida.  Butler feels that "SkyBahamas is so confident with its Freeport brand that it is in its final stages of launching its international  route to Florida. SkyBahamas first launched its international scheduled flights between Freeport and Turks & Caicos on year ago.  We see Freeport pregnant with opportunities that will  give our company and this community the economic boost it so badly needs."  Chairman of The Board and local Chamber President affirms Butler's view. Noting that he has consistently championed the cause of local businesses Mr. Turnquest states that he is enormously proud of his affiliation with the SkyBahamas organization, and calls upon other companies to be bold in investing in the future of Grand Bahama during this challenging but potential-filled times.

SkyBahamas began operations in September 2006.  Two years later it was acquired by  a new leadership team with Butler and Turnquest at the helm.  Since 2008, the company has experienced unprecedented growth seeing company assets triple, routes expanded to thirteen domestic and international destinations, staff compliment reach almost 100 employees, seeing its fleet increase to five aircraft, sponsoring numerous community events and festivals and giving back almost one quarter of a million dollars to support charitable causes.

According to Romer, "SkyBahamas Airlines has been leading the domestic travel industry and has  a level of superior service unmatched by any other competitor.  We have the technical competence, personnel commitment, and a quality product that makes us the airline of choice for Freeport and The Bahamas".
